This last running week went well. I recovered from my hip issue, did a few testing runs and then hit the trails for a longer run with the dude I’m doing the 50km run with.
We follow each other on Strava, so after each run we do separately, you can look to see what their pace per km was, how long of a distance they ran, and if they happened to break any personal records. A couple of the runs he did made me nervous. I mean, good for him, they were quite fast, but not so good for me if I have to keep pace with that animal. It was good to get out for a run together to see where I was at in relation to him.
We ran the trails around Guelph Lake. There is a mix of technical and not technical trails. The technical trails really made you pay attention to where you were putting your feet and there were a few moments of almost-falling-on-face incidents. Real trails are no joke. They are hella fun to run on though. Flat roads seem boring in comparison. All in all, I’m feeling pretty confident for the 50km race coming up on November 19th, 2022. So, that’s good.
OLIVIA
It’s doing well. You know, it’s tricky putting a sequel out. I find origin stories to be the most interesting and in sequels, you run the risk of evolving your character that the reader, who had a preconceived idea of who your character was, may not be onboard with. But, it broke the top 100 for Horror on Amazon and for a somewhat unknown author, that blew me away. If you’ve read it, leave a review. I read them all. I want to learn to write better and the reviews help me to see where I got it right, and just as important, where I got it wrong.
LUDICROUS CHALLENGE
This is going surprisingly well. There are so many benefits to writing this way. I get the story out. I don’t have to backtrack and figure out where I was like I used to do when for whatever reason I had to take a break from writing and I let it sit for sometimes an entire month. It’s HALLOWEEN and I will be at 31,000 words by the end of the day! This is take me to either just past 100 pages or close enough. In a month! Me likey.
BARBARIAN
This Halloween film season was redeemed by a film without Halloween in the title (Halloween Ends was trash). This movie, man. Scary, gross, suspenseful, entertaining, and a lot of wtf moments, essentially, horror perfection. I don’t want to give away any plot points. Just, if you like horror, you need to see it. It’s streaming on Disney plus in Canada.
