Now, those of you who know me, know that I am an F13 fanboy. The hockey mask-wearing killer of adventurous teens had terrified me as a kid. Even before he donned the iconic hockey mask, Jason kept me up at night.
When I was a kid, a big group of my family went cottaging. The parents rented a bunch of cottages together and aunts, uncles and cousins were all there. My one cousin, knowing I was afraid of the F13 films, put a pillow case over their head and poof! In my mind they just became Jason. I was unreasonably scared by this. Funny, looking back on it now, how much that affected me.
After F13 part 4, Jason was no longer scary. Fun, but certainly not scary. Some of you other fans out there may know that there is some legal battle going on over the rights of the Film Franchise so, since 2009, we haven’t had an F13 film. Sucks, right?
Fear not! I stumbled upon the above film. And it is awesome. Jason was scary again. Jason was powerful again and a well written, well-directed script made Jason awesome again.
This is a fan film. The very talented Vincente Disanti directed this gem. And I don’t want to spoil anything for those who have not seen it, but a beloved actor from the franchise makes an appearance.
If you like F13 films, or even just good horror, you need to see it. Click the below link. It’s free on YouTube.
After you watch it, you might want to visit this link: Never Hike in the Snow.
The great people who made Never Hike Alone are crowd-funding a sequel. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see it.
Have a great week. Be kind to everyone.
