I’ve been busy.
So, for the podcast, we are getting there. For real, though. We got the recording settings correct and I even screenshotted what the settings are supposed to look like in case, like, I forget or even worse, erase the settings. Ugh. But yeah, that’s all good now and we did a test session, to see how we sounded, and even with me being my normal super-critical self, I thought we sounded good. Of course, we can always improve and with the help of our audience and judicious self-regulation, I am confident that we will. Improve that is. Our first upload should be soon. Very soon. I hope you can join us and listen in when we do post it.
Running is going well. I am sore but not a debilitating sore, more like a getting better, body-repairing type of sore. The mileage is getting up there and the marathon day is getting closer and…yikes! I’ll be fine. Yeah. If I keep telling myself that, it might even be true. I am confident I’ll finish, but the qualifying for the Boston Marathon time I wanted to achieve is slipping further from my reach. Oh well, there are more marathons next year.
Now, for my short story anthology, I thought I would draw a simple title page for each story. A comic-book style of sketch. The only problem was, I’m out of practice with my drawing and for me, it is a perishable skill and my first couple of attempts? Let’s just say, not so good. But I have another plan because I really like the idea of the simple title page and when I get it sorted, I’ll share it with you on my site and look forward to any feedback from you fine people to make the title pages better.
In other, unrelated news, I tweeted this out some time ago but I really liked the idea and thought I’d share it again. Here it goes.
Anyone who knows me will know I am a big Superman fan. My oldest son and I frequently discuss this because he thinks an all-powerful character with a hard-to-exploit weakness is just not that interesting. There is a whole laundry list of reasons why I disagree, but that’s not what I wanted to say. The rumor is, Henry Cavill will not return as Superman in any future DC/Warner Brothers film. Along with this rumor was that Ben Affleck would not return as Batman, either. So, two major characters in the DC universe no longer have actors to play them. My idea, or suggestion, is for the character of Batman. So here it is: Idris Elba should play Batman. Bam!
He would rock the Bruce Wayne character because he has presence, charisma, whatever you want to call it, that indefinable component, well, he has it. And as Batman? C’mon! Who would do a better job? Who? No one. That’s who. Is it a long shot? Probably. I mean, I don’t think he has even been mentioned in any rumor-mill for the part but to me, he’d own the character. And that’s the most important part, right?
Anyway, have a great day. Be kind to each other. And if you have time, please check out my published works on the right.
